Cell production and automation

SCS is at the forefront of bio-manufacturing processes for the efficient, automated and large scale production and manipulation of stem cells.

With a particular focus on human and rodent neural, adipose, osteoblast and muscle stem cells, SCS provides the pharmaceutical research industry with simplified and fast access to these breakthrough technologies. This may be achieved by either technology transfer, enabling research teams to manufacture and control the cells in house or alternatively, SCS can culture and deliver stem or differentiated cells to research labs in a just- in-time fashion.

SCS provides researchers with an essentially unlimited supply of human physiologically relevant cells on which to conduct their discovery research, enabling assay development, screening, and the follow-up optimisation assays of new pharmacologically active compounds to be conducted on identical cells over extended periods of time.

Our advances in media and culture techniques allow the stem cells to be produced in standard adherent
T-flask cultures, either manually or using automated platforms. The cultures are feeder and serum free adding further to the consistency of cell phenotype necessary for greater success in modern drug discovery.

For two years, SCS has operated our fully equipped cell culture facility in Cambridge UK which incorporates state of the art automation for cell culture, the CompacT SelecT™ from The Automation Partnership together with cell analysis equipment.

NEW – Our latest service is to offer automated contract neural stem cell derivation.
