Stem Cell Sciences plc (AIM:STEM, ASX:STC) today announced that the UK Patent Office has granted it a patent covering the Company’s new range of stem cell culture media. The new Culticell iSTEM™ range uses the inhibitor based technology discovered by Professor Austin Smith and recently published in Nature journal (vol. 453, pp.519-523).

5.6.2008 – Stem Cell Sciences granted European patent on HEScGRO™ and EScGRO™ media
Stem Cell Sciences plc (AIM:STEM, ASX:STC) today announced that the European Patent Office has granted a patent that protects its existing range of embryonic stem cell culture media. The media, marketed in Europe under the brands HEScGRO™ and EScGRO™, are used in the culture of embryonic stem cells from human and mouse, respectively.

4.6.2008– Stem Cell Sciences granted second European ‘Nanog’ patent key gene enabling the production of disease specific assays

Stem Cell Sciences plc (AIM:STEM, ASX:STC) today announced that the European Patent Office (“EPO”) has granted it a second patent for ‘Nanog’, a key factor used to convert adult cells back into a pluripotent state. With this technology, adult cells can be reprogrammed to behave like embryonic stem cells, thus avoiding the controversy associated with using embryos.

Stem Cell Sciences plc (AIM:STEM, ASX:STC) today announced the launch of Culticell iSTEM, a novel, serum-free, feeder-free embryonic stem (ES) cell research media product, that maintains cells in their basal, pluripotent state. Culticell iSTEM provides researchers with a purer starting point for investigating the biological potential of ES cells.

14.5.2008 – Stem Cell Sciences granted broad US stem cell media patent
Stem Cell Sciences plc (AIM:STEM, ASX:STC) today announced that the US Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) has granted its patent for technology that improves the efficiency of the culture and derivation of embryonic stem cells which leads to an increased purity of the cells.

23.10.2007 – Stem Cell Sciences to develop novel muscle stem cells for drug discovery and toxicology

Stem Cell Sciences plc (SCS, AIM:STEM, ASX:STC), the global biotechnology company focused on the commercialisation of stem cells and stem cell technologies in research and cell-based therapies, today announced the signing of an exclusive agreement with San Raffaele Scientific Institute (Milan, Italy) covering assay validation and future commercialisation of novel human muscle stem cells for drug discovery and toxicology applications. 19.6.2007 – Stem Cell Sciences In-Licenses breakthrough discovery for the production of human stem cells

20.2.2007 – AIM - Stem Cell Sciences licenses neural stem cell technology to Merck & Co., Inc. Agreement includes license fee and development milestone payments.

Stem Cell Sciences plc, (LSE: AIM, 'STEM') has licensed the use of their novel mouse neural stem cell technology to Merck & Co., Inc. for research use. Financial terms were not disclosed, but include a signing fee and milestone payments.

1.2.2007 – AIM - Stem Cell Sciences signs Material Transfer Agreement and Option to License Novel Technology

Stem Cell Sciences plc (AIM: STEM), the global biotechnology company focused on the commercialisation of stem cells and stem cell technologies in research and novel cell-based therapies, is pleased to announce that it has signed a Material Transfer Agreement (“MTA”) and Option to License with AIM-listed Henderson Morley plc (AIM: HML). This agreement allows Stem Cell Sciences (SCS) to explore the use of Henderson Morley’s (HM) novel L-particles and PREPS technology (“Technology”) in the design of unique stem cell based assays.

25.1.2007 – AIM - Millipore’s HEScGRO™ Medium Advances Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research

As a direct result of an agreement between Millipore and Stem Cell Sciences, announced in October 2006, Millipore Corporation have today announced the availability of HEScGRO animal component-free medium for human embryonic stem cell research.
